Brit Barnhouse the editor-in-chief of In Layman’s Terms, a literary journal she created with the intent to inspire further exploration of science and the natural world. She has a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Washington Tacoma, and is currently pursuing an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from Portland State University. When not writing about the ever-blurred lines between animals and humans, she can be found hoping for close encounters with whales in the Puget Sound, giving her dogs belly rubs, or tossing treats out to the neighborhood crows.
